Share Ambassador

     Rose Carlson

Before becoming involved with Share, I was a stay-at-home mom to my four children, Brandon, Justin, Lauren and Rachel. I had suffered four early pregnancy losses, the last one in 1993, yet I had never heard of Share. Nine years later, I met Cathi Lammert at a Share fundraiser that I had attended with a friend. I started volunteering at the office two weeks later, and a few months after that, I was hired as a part-time office assistant. Then, in January 2004, I became Share’s Program Director.

I was honored to be asked to be a part of Share’s First Annual Angel Ball committee, but I needed to give that up when I became an employee of Share. However, I have still tried to stay involved and do whatever I can to help out with this wonderful event. I have always enjoyed sewing and other crafty endeavors, and I have donated purses and jewelry that I designed to the silent auction for a couple of years. Last year, after creating a special bracelet for a dear friend of mine in remembrance of her daughter, Hannah, who was stillborn, I was asked by the committee to make a similar bracelet to sell at the Angel Ball. That special bracelet became the “Live, Love, Laugh, Hope” bracelets that were sold to 15 “Angels in the Crowd” at last year’s Ball.

This year, I was asked to create another special bracelet to commemorate the 2006 Angel Ball as well as the bracelets that will be given to the Share Ambassadors as a thank you gift. I gladly said yes. As I string each bead, I can’t help but think of the many lives Share touches each year and how the Angel Ball has become an important part of ensuring that Share is able to continue its mission.

I feel so incredibly blessed to be a part of Share. I am proud and honored to be asked to share something that I love doing with people who have come to mean so much to me.
